Fall Symposium at Nobian – October 31st 2025
On Friday, October 31st, we hosted our Fall Symposium at Nobian. The morning program focused on salts, beginning with a presentation by Paul Verwer on lithium refining at Nobian. Anne Claude (University of Amsterdam) followed with a talk on her PhD research into the dehydration mechanisms of hydrated salts. Norbert Kuipers (Wageningen University & Research) concluded the morning session with a presentation on water and salt recovery through membrane distillation crystallization.
After lunch, we held the 2025 General Members Meeting, followed by an inspiring afternoon of talks. Hugo Meekes shared highlights from his remarkable career at Radboud University Nijmegen. Susanna Bertuletti (AMOLF) then presented her research on ultra-fast deracemization via metastable phases, and Ivan Buijnsters (Delft University of Technology) closed the session with a presentation on boron-doped diamonds.
The day concluded with a lab tour and informal drinks with snacks — a perfect opportunity to reconnect and exchange ideas. We look back on a successful symposium filled with engaging discussions and excellent presentations.
A special thank you to Bart Zwijnenburg and Paul Verwer for hosting this event.
